A recent study ranked Radnor School District as the safest in the nation. Niche.com, which reviews different neighborhoods and schools, released the study this month.

According to Niche, criteria for consideration included suspension and expulsion rates, absenteeism of students, and law enforcement referrals.

Other local school districts ranked closely behind. Unionville-Chadds Ford came in at 4th place, closely followed by Tredyffrin-Easttown in 5th place and Marple-Newtown in 9th place.

In an effort to keep schools safe, all 230 schools in Delaware County installed a panic button in 2013. This device will immediately alert law enforcement if there is a threat to the school in any way.
